A message from Interim Superintendent Justin Hunt re: SNAP benefits

Updated: 13 minutes ago

Dear Epic Families,

Many Oklahomans rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to provide meals. Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, SNAP benefits may be interrupted beginning November 1.

While this situation may cause uncertainty, stress or financial strain for some, your school is dedicated to connecting you with every available resource possible.

Some of those resources include:

Community Food and Assistance Resources

If you need immediate food assistance, please contact your teacher or submit a request form on our website.

Food assistance is available across Oklahoma through the Regional Food Bank’s network of provider partners. You can:

  • Visit rfbo.org/get-help, and enter your address to find Regional Food Bank partners open and available in your area.

  • Dial 211 for information on food banks, pantries and local assistance programs throughout Oklahoma.

Additional Assistance and Mental Health Resources

Epic’s counseling and student support teams are available to assist families experiencing anxiety or stress during this time. Contact our team via StudentWellness@epiccharterschools.org or submit a request on our Student Wellness webpage.

If you would like to help those in need, Epic will join the Regional Food Bank's efforts by accepting food donations at its micro sites and transporting them to local neighborhood pantries. Donations will be accepted at the following locations: Participating Food Donation Locations

Food donations are accepted Monday through Thursday from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. November and December donation windows are:

  • Nov. 3-6.

  • Nov. 10-13.

  • Nov. 17-20.

  • Closed Nov. 24-28.

  • Dec.1-4.

  • Dec. 8-11.

  • Dec. 5-18.

  • Closed Dec. 22-Jan. 2.
