    < Back Journalism & Creative Media About the Program The Epic News Network and Creative Media courses are specialty courses for students interested in journalism, photography, video production and audio production. Courses are available for everyone from the new learner to the old pro. We also have non-elective course options for junior high students. The student journalism program offers a Next Step-qualifying internship for our 11th and 12th grade students. This internship requires 60 hours of participation per semester for half an elective credit. Students may do more, but cannot exceed 120 hours (1 elective credit) per semester. In partnership with their local Kiwanis club, high school students are making a positive impact as they serve others in their schools and communities. With thousands of clubs in more than 38 countries, the impact of Key Club members can be felt all over the world. High school student members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, collecting clothing and organizing food drives. They also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district and international levels.
