Enrollment, Re-enrollment Open at Epic Charter Schools, Telling Families, “We Have a Path For That”

OKLAHOMA CITY (March 31, 2026) – Enrollment and re-enrollment for the 2026-27 school year at the state’s largest public virtual charter school is open. From birth to age 30, Epic has a path for that.  Starting with Epic Beginnings and going through adult education with Pathways, there are various ways Epic students can achieve their educational goals in a setting tailored to their learning needs.

Epic Beginnings is a free, family support program designed to prepare students from birth to age 5 who reside in a household with at least one Epic student but who are not Epic students themselves. Epic has a library of personally supportive and developmentally appropriate resources to help families prepare every child in their care for school.

With Epic’s one-on-one model, a student is matched with an Oklahoma-certified teacher who works with students at all grade levels, meaning students may retain the same teacher throughout their Epic journey. This model is mostly virtual, with students required to meet with their teacher in-person or online once per week.

Comet Academy serves students PreK - 10th grade who desire more in-person instruction. Comet Academy is geographically focused and grouped according to the four levels of education, including early childhood, elementary, middle school and high school. In Comet Academy, students are part of a class comprised of other students of a similar age who also live in their area.

RISE Academy is a program designed to help students who have fallen behind academically to catch up and get back on track. RISE Academy students attend classes daily, completing credits at an accelerated pace with the goal of catching up to students in their expected graduation cohort. Students who are facing age-out (will turn 20 years old before or at graduation), regardless of their expected graduation class, are eligible for RISE Academy.

Pathways provides young adult students (ages 21-30) with the opportunity to learn virtually with support from certified educators, mentors, and tutors to earn their high school diploma. Students work through a free,  online curriculum that best fits with their schedule. Traditionally, adult students had limited options to graduate high school, but through Pathways, adult learners can earn their diploma without the cost or stigma often associated with a GED.

“For every type of learner, we have a path that sets students up for success,” said Dr. Shaun Ross, Epic superintendent.  “At Epic, students have a learning plan tailored to their individual needs, and we are dedicated to ensuring students have exactly what they need to put them on the right path for their future.”
