In this class each student will learn how to throw clay on a pottery wheel, trim, glaze, and properly fire clay. We will learn about different types of clay and glazes and best techniques and practices for throwing claying efficiently and safely. By the end of the semester each student will have acquired the foundational skills of wedging, centering, and throwing a cylinder. More advanced lessons will enable students to make more complex vessels such as bowls, plates, and coffee mugs. Our studio is located in Clinton, OK.
