Red Clay Pottery School 613 Frisco Ave, Clinton, OK, 73601 Vendor Website Have fun and learn how to make pottery! In this class each student will learn how to throw clay on a pottery wheel, trim, glaze, and properly fire clay. We will learn about different types of clay and glazes and best techniques and practices for throwing claying efficiently and safely. By the end of the semester each student will have acquired the foundational skills of wedging, centering, and throwing a cylinder. More advanced lessons will enable students to make more complex vessels such as bowls, plates, and coffee mugs. Our studio is located in Clinton, OK. It is a 3,000 sqft public space with other artists working on their own projects. Each class has space for up to 3 students. Individual lessons are also available by request. We offer a variety of art mediums every month, from acrylic & watercolor painting, collage, mixed media, weaving, sewing, cooking, clay, drawing and much, much more. Most classes last one hour. We also offer private classes for co-ops, scout troops, groups of friends and/or family with a minimum of 7 students. We will work together to create a lesson or unit and teach it using a step by step method of art.
