Old Mountain Farms offers horse riding lessons designed in a fun way to enjoy recreational riding while learning important skills. The techniques of safe horsemanship are taught to allow horse riders of all ages and abilities to reach their personal riding goals. Lessons include many objectives including the nature, behavior, communication of the horse, groundwork, grooming, applying tack, mounting and dismounting, leveled riding skills, horse health, husbandry, and hippology (horse knowledge). Students ride horses in the arena, round pen, and on the trails. Objectives and goals are measurable, and achievement levels depend on mastery of riding knowledge and skills.
