Have fun and learn how to make pottery! In this class each student will learn how to throw clay on a pottery wheel, trim, glaze, and properly fire clay. We will learn about different types of clay and glazes and best techniques and practices for throwing claying efficiently and safely. By the end of the semester each student will have acquired the foundational skills of wedging, centering, and throwing a cylinder. More advanced lessons will enable students to make more complex vessels such as bowls, plates, and coffee mugs.
Our studio is located in Clinton, OK. It is a 3,000 sqft public space with other artists working on their own projects. Each class has space for up to 3 students. Individual lessons are also available by request. We look forward to teaching you!
