Tap Dance - Tap focuses on rhythms and patterns in footwork through proper technique, as well as personal style and producing clear, precise sounds. Classes include a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Tap includes the development of rhythm, precision footwork, creative styling, ankle strength and flexibility, musicality, building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. Tap classes may include barre and/or center floor warm up, technique and development of different rhythms. Combinations and routines in traditional and stylized forms are studied. Jazz Dance - Jazz combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance, and are a must for all dancers, dance teams, musical theater and pompom enthusiasts. with current forms of popular dance. Exercises focus on increasing flexibility and strength, rhythms and isolation of body parts, and expressing personal style. All jazz classes will have a strong foundation in ballet with an emphasis on correct body alignment and technique. Classes include warm up, isolations, stretches, conditioning exercises to increase flexibility and strength, across the floor progressions, and choreography combinations. Various styles of jazz combinations and routines are studied. Broadway Babies Includes dance, acting and vocal instruction, using activity songs and exercises that teach theater terminology and basic rhythm patterns. The class focus is on the development of coordination, concentration, listening skills and self-confidence, for learning teamwork, and positive interaction. This class is structured and paced for the young learner and is a FUN introduction to the JOY of dance. Ballet - Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms. Ballet technique and tradition include the technical development of strength, flexibility, body placement, alignment, body positions, posture, coordination, balance, terminology, grace, and musicality. Ballet classes are a continual and disciplined study of fundamentals, extended to emotional expression and precision, as well as developing fluid artistic control. Dancers that truly want to progress in level for various styles, will want to make sure to have 1 or more ballet classes on their schedule each week. Ballet class includes classical barre technique, center & traveling floor studies and various stylized combinations. Students will progress (age and level appropriate) to more advanced barre, adagio, allegro, leaps, and turns. Proper French terminology is taught. Acting - Techniques and exercises to build the actor’s abilities and awareness to use the vocal and physical instrument for performance. Song Interpretation - The voice is a main component of the triple threat of music theater. Classes in voice focus on vocal health, flexibility, range, breath support, posture, tone, registration, repertoire, efficiency, articulation, diction, terminology, musicality, story-telling. Private Lessons are available in Voice, Acting, and Audition Preparation
